Mariana Tong
Mariana graduated from University of California, Los Angeles, and spent many years working in the banking field. She was introduced to golf a long time ago but never had the time for it because of her busy schedule with work and with her family. She picked up this sport again in 2012 for leisure and found this game “deceptively simple and endlessly complicated”, a quote from legendary golfer Arnold Palmer. Joining the Society allows her to meet many keen golfers of different skill levels and from different walks of life. She wants to increase her competitiveness among her golfing friends. This motivates her to take golf more seriously as a sport rather than a leisure activity. For her, golf is not just about reducing one’s handicap. It is a sport that requires a lot of patience, perseverance and respect.
